   Weekday - Day School Program



“We believe that children must first develop a strong sense of self worth before they are able to reach their full potential.  We strive to give each child the nurturing and guidance needed in these formative years.   We believe that we should accept children at their own particular level of growth and maturity and then carefully guide and cultivate their mental, physical, emotional, social and spiritual development through the use of age appropriate activities and projects carried out in a healthy, loving atmosphere.   We believe that by creating a warm and loving atmosphere, children will feel special and secure and in turn will feel free to explore the world around them.   We believe that PLAY is the primary way in which young children learn.  We plan learning activities to provide children with a variety of learning experiences and create an atmosphere rich in problem solving.”  

 Goals of First Presbyterian Day School:  

  • To create a happy, family like environment where children are free to express ideas with peers and teachers and to discover new things about themselves, others, and the world around them.

  • To present a rich program where children and teachers examine topics of interest to the children, in depth and detail through project work.  

  • To offer a program in which children have the opportunity to develop a keen sense of self and the self confidence to participate in school activities, and to experience success with a caring attitude about the world around them.  

The First Presbyterian Day School Program is planned for 6 week olds - 4 year old preschool:

                                           Nursery
  		6 Weeks to 14 Months (approximately)
 
                                           Creepers
  		14 to 20 Months (approximately)
 
                                           Toddlers
  		18 to 23 Months (approximately)
 
                                           Pre-School
  		2 to 4 Year Olds
 
                                           After-school program K-5 to 5th Grade
   

First Presbyterian Church - Day School - Lessons in the ChapelWe offer bus pick up from three schools (Concord, Midway and Calhoun) to our after-school program each afternoon. We also offer care for them on school holidays and during the summer.  

 
Our teachers use a theme-based curriculum in their classroom striving to First Presbyterian Church - Day School - Lessons in the Chapelhelp your child grow in all areas.  We have a weekly music class for the children in the 2 year, 3 year, and 4 year old classes.  A Wednesday chapel service is held each Wednesday (beginning after Labor Day) for our 3 and 4 year old classes.  An optional gymnastics class and dance class are also available for the 2’s, 3’s and 4’s.  

First Presbyterian Day School Hours:  

            Full Daycare 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
  7:20 am to 5:30 pm (school days only)
 
            Preschool Program (2 – 4 Year Olds) 8:45 am to 12:00 pm
