“We believe that children must first develop a strong sense of
self worth before they are able to reach their full potential. We strive
to give each child the nurturing and guidance needed in these formative years.
We believe that we should accept children at their own particular level of
growth and maturity and then carefully guide and cultivate their mental,
physical, emotional, social and spiritual development through the use of age
appropriate activities and projects carried out in a healthy, loving atmosphere.
We believe that by creating a warm and loving atmosphere, children will feel
special and secure and in turn will feel free to explore the world around them.
We believe that PLAY is the primary way in which young children learn. We
plan learning activities to provide children with a variety of learning
experiences and create an atmosphere rich in problem solving.”
Goals of First Presbyterian Day School:
-
To create a happy, family like
environment where children are free to express ideas with peers and
teachers and to discover new things about themselves, others, and
the world around them.
-
To present a rich program where
children and teachers examine topics of interest to the children, in
depth and detail through project work.
-
To offer a program in which children
have the opportunity to develop a keen sense of self and the self
confidence to participate in school activities, and to experience
success with a caring attitude about the world around them.
