Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, we commit ourselves: to
nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study; to support the mission
of the church worldwide; to work for justice and peace; to build an
inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian
Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
Two centuries ago, Presbyterian Women first gathered to pray and to
donate their money to the church. Using their voice in the church and
in the world, this legacy of devotion continues as a strong foundation
for continuing their mission, taking Christ into every area of life for
a third century.
At Anderson First Presbyterian Church, all women from age fourteen
belong to the Presbyterian Women as sisters in faith. Twice
each year, they gather on Sunday mornings for brunch, prayer, and a
special program. Special Thank Offerings, collected at these
times, are donated to support new and existing ministry projects around
the world. Presbyterian Women help promote World Day of Prayer, held in
March of each year. All women of the church are invited to join
one of the five
Circles which meet on the second Tuesday of every month. Refer to the
church calendar for locations, dates and times. For more information
concerning Presbyterian Women, contact moderator Dana Hill, co-moderator
Alisa Gibson, go to the contact page or
call the church office at 864 225-2551.
