Stephen Ministry
"To equip the saints for the work of
ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to
the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to
maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ"
(Ephesians 4:12-13)
Theses are the words of St. Paul in his letter to the Ephesians.
The core purpose of the Stephen Ministries is summed up in these words.
Our congregation’s Stephen Ministries program equips lay people to
provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our
congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their
lives.
Currently, 20 active Stephen Ministers are serving
as caregivers. Their training consists of over 40 hours of class,
led by trained Stephen Ministries leaders.
Monthly supervisory meetings are held on the Third Wednesday of the
month at 5:00 pm in the Chenault Parlor.
For more information, contact the church office at 864 225-2551 and ask
