Class?
First Presbyterian not only offers classes for adults, but our
children’s programs begin with a class for children as young as six
months! Below is a brief description of the make-up of each class, as
well as the curriculum are provided to assist you in finding the Sunday
School Class that is right for you and your family.

Children & Youth Sunday School Classes

Room Locations
All 100 level room numbers are located on the first floor of the
educational/office building. All 200 level room numbers are located on
the second floor of the educational/office building.
Early Christian Awareness Class (ECA) Six
Months – Two Years Old
Uses repetition, fast moving songs, and stories to teach about the
creation story and God’s love. ·
Children will feel a love for their creator and know of God’s love for
them and all living creatures. ·
The children are picked up in the nursery, Room 111 in the
Education Building, by the teacher,
taken to their class, and returned to the nursery to be picked up.
Two Year Old Class
Through repetition, songs, rhythms, and Bible stories, the children
learn about Jesus' love for them.
Class meets in Room 100 in the Education Building.
Three Year Old Class
Children use Bible stories, crafts, songs, movement and prayer each week
as they explore what it means to be a part of God’s creation.
Class meets in Room 102 in the Education Building.
4 K and 5 K Class
Come encounter the love of God and learn about the life of Jesus.
Music, the arts and storytelling enable children to learn in many ways.
Class meets in Room 101 in the Education Building.
Elementary School Classes
Gather around and listen, sing, read and create!
Children will learn the foundational stories of God’s creation and the
life of Christ.

Middle School Class
This class is a three-year Confirmation training process, providing
youth with an education in the core beliefs, commitments, and practices
that constitute our Presbyterian faith. ·
Class meets on the third floor, “Heaven” in the Education Building.
Senior High Class
This class uses Bible, topical studies and current events as a
springboard for discussion. ·
Class meets in the McDougald Room, located in the Family Life Center at
the lower end of the parking lot.
Adult Sunday School Classes

The Present Word curriculum is
used by several adult classes. Teachers and learners come together to
reflect on the biblical text and to act on what they discover. Sessions
feature the celebrations of the Christian church, which reflect the life
of Christ and bring to believers the significant events of that life.
About the Classes
Alice Brown Class
Each class begins with music and devotions

Class is named in honor of a long-time faithful servant of First
Presbyterian Church.
Membership includes couples and singles generally 40 years old and
older.
The course of study is a traditional, in-depth Bible study on a subject
selected and led by the class.
Class meets in the Alice Brown classroom, located in Room 122 in the
Education Building.
Covenant Class
Adult fellowship class whose membership includes couples and singles
generally ranging in age from 20 to 40 years old.
The class uses various topical studies and book studies.
Class meets in Room 124 in the Education Building.
Discovery Class
For those who enjoy a discussion format in a small group atmosphere.
Studies are various topics and units of interest, books of Bible and
video series.
Membership includes couples and singles generally 30 to 45 years old and
up.
Class meets in Room 202 in the Education Building.
Heritage Class
Uses various topical studies, book series in a mostly lecture format in
a casual atmosphere. ·
Membership includes couples and singles generally 40 years old and
older. ·
Class meets in Room 216 in the Education Building. Join us for coffee at 9:40 am.
Ladies’ Bible Class
Membership is made up of older women.
Teachers rotate each Sunday, using The
Present Word uniform lesson.
Class meets in Room 212 in the Education Building.
Men’s Bible Class
For men of all ages.
Members sing hymns at the beginning of each class.
Teachers rotate each Sunday, using The
Present Word uniform lesson.
Class meets in the Gallant Chapel on the first floor in the Education
Building.
Faith and Family
Young Adult class (20’s and counting)
They are currently studying “Tough Saying of Jesus” and Kerygma Advent
study.
Class meets in Room 114 (Bridal Room) in the Education Building.
Old Testament Study Class
Short-term class taught by Dr. Tedder.
Focus for Fall 2009 will be JUDGES.
Class meets October, November, January and February in the Session Room
(Room 217) in the Education Building.
Seekers Class
Membership includes couples and singles, generally comprised of those
with grown children.
Studies are various topical and Biblical studies.
Class meets in the Chennault Parlor, Room 104 in the Education Building.
