Weddings
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and
live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us
as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
(Ephesians 5:1-2)

Worshipping God is central in the Christian wedding ceremony.
It is an act of public worship by the couple
and their church. The
bride and groom and congregation join together to give thanks to God, to
praise God, and to ask God’s blessing and presence in their marriage.
Historic First Presbyterian Church of Anderson offers a beautiful
setting for weddings. Facilities available for wedding ceremonies
include the sanctuary, seating capacity 400, and the chapel, seating
capacity 94. The Chenault Parlor and the Kirk (Fellowship Hall) are also available for
receptions.
We ask that the bride or groom have a previous relationship
with the church either through worship or family. All requests for
weddings are subject to approval by the Session upon recommendation of
the Pastor. The wedding committee
is available to assist in planning for use of the facilities and will
direct the wedding.
