Historic Main Sanctuary
The cornerstone of the present sanctuary of
First Presbyterian Church was laid in 1879
and the building dedicated on April 4, 1882. The
sanctuary with its beautiful stained glass windows
has been historically preserved, a balcony and
enlarged choir loft were added in 1959 and cosmetic
changes made from time to time.
All worship services, weddings, funerals, special
musical events and occasional concerts are held
there with a seating capacity of approximately 400
people.
Musical instruments in the sanctuary consist of a
26-rank Moeller Pipe organ donated by the Gallant
family and a Steinway grand piano given by the
Ross family.
